Pilgrimage of Hope on the Camino de Santiago
Saturday, October 4 – Monday, October 13, 2025

Open the door to hope this Jubilee Year as a pilgrim on the Camino.
In this sacred year of the Catholic Jubilee, we invite you to embark on a heartfelt pilgrimage to a holy place. Together, under the guidance of a compassionate Catholic priest, Fr. Lucio Choi, you will have the chance to renew your faith, make meaningful connections, and strengthen our community. This journey transcends the destination; it celebrates our shared experiences, uplifts one another, and deepens your spiritual path.
Meet Fr. Lucio Choi, our companion on the journey.
"Hi, I’m Fr. Lucio Choi, pastor of Holy Trinity Parish in North Vancouver. Walking the Camino de Santiago has been a dream of mine for a long time, and I’m thrilled that this year, during the Jubilee Year, I finally get to embark on this sacred journey. With my good friend Mili as our guide, this pilgrimage will be a time of faith, reflection, and renewal. I’d love for you to join me on this incredible adventure—let’s walk together in the footsteps of countless pilgrims and experience the grace of the Camino!"

What You Can Expect
Live Out the Jubilee Year: The theme of this Jubilee year is “Pilgrims of Hope.” Embark on a true pilgrimage this year and grow deeper in faith.
Follow in the Footsteps of the Saints: As we take the time to learn about the apostle St. James, we can draw inspiration from his virtues. By seeking his intercession, we can open our hearts to the graces that the Jubilee offers.
Renew Your Spiritual Life: Engage in prayer, worship, and self-reflection together. It’s important to embrace accountability, practice forgiveness, express gratitude, rest in God’s presence, and invite the Holy Spirit to guide us on our journey.

Make New Friends: Connecting with others who share our interests can lead to beautiful, unforgettable experiences.
Build a Stronger Community: Take the time to come together with our fellow parishioners, fostering relationships that can deepen our faith and support us on our spiritual journey. We are all in this together.

About the Camino de Santiago
The word "Compostela" is believed to derive from the Latin phrase Campus Stellae, meaning "field of the star. " It is connected to the stars of the Milky Way. Tradition has it that since the Middle Ages, the apostle St. James has guided pilgrims to his tomb by illuminating their path with the stars.
The Camino symbolizes the incredible journey of pilgrims from around the world, all converging at the sacred tomb of Saint James in Santiago de Compostela. The scallop shell embodies rebirth, reflecting the transformative leap from an old life into a new spiritual adventure. Many embark on the Camino in search of healing and forgiveness. This journey creates a sacred space for discovering profound inner peace.

From Sarria to Santiago de Compostela, you will experience the last 100 km of the French Way, including the charming towns of Sarria, Portomarin, Palas de Rei, Arzúa, Rúa, and the magnificent Santiago de Compostela in Spain.
This route is classified as medium difficulty, making it ideal for enthusiastic walkers. While prior training is advisable, the path is accessible and welcoming. You will encounter a moderately uneven terrain with a mix of dirt, stone roads, and picturesque rural country paths, alongside local roads with light traffic. Occasionally, the Camino will navigate areas near larger towns and villages, where you'll find a bit more activity.
There are no significant elevation changes, allowing you to enjoy the stunning Galician countryside, which features gentle inclines and declines, as well as beautiful valleys, mountains, rivers, and streams. The journey is not just manageable; it is undeniably captivating and rewarding at every step.
