Exploring Vancouver: Finding Your Home Away from Home

Last January, we celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary. We were both busy with work and family activities, but we didn’t want our special day to pass without celebrating it in a special way. Of course, we attended Mass and received a blessing. Thank you to our pastor, Fr. Paul. It was very special to be together on the same day twenty years later, reaffirming our marriage sacrament commitment.

After that, we escaped to Harrison for the weekend. We stayed at Rowena’s Inn, an old house that has been expanded and now has nine luxurious modern cabins with very well-equipped kitchenettes, living and dining areas, and beautiful balconies with wooden hot tubs. They also have the option to stay in Sandpiper’s accommodations, which come in one to three bedrooms.

Sandpiper’s golf course is voted the # 1 golf course in the Fraser Valley, and there is a restaurant on the property with very good service. Speaking of dining, The River’s Edge Clubhouse boasts innovative West Coast cuisine and is a must-try while at Harrison.

There are plenty of activities to try while in Harrison: two of note are the eagle observations, which happen year-round, and the tulip festival in the spring, which has moved close to Agassiz.
