Exciting news! The brand new Jorge Chávez International Airport is about to officially open its doors, marking the end of operations for the existing airport. We invite you to embark on a journey to discover this state-of-the-art facility and gain an exclusive, in-depth view of the passenger experience when arriving in and departing from the vibrant land of Peru. Get ready to explore what awaits you!

The transfer process from the current terminal at Faucett to the new terminal located in Morales Duarez will begin at 00:00 hours on June. During this 12-hour period, airport services will not be operational.

The revamped Jorge Chávez Airport features state-of-the-art technologies to improve the passenger experience. These innovations include self-check-in kiosks for a faster and more straightforward process, CT scanners that simplify security checks by allowing passengers to keep items like laptops or water bottles in their bags, and e-gates that expedite the outbound immigration process.

Arrival

You must complete an Electronic TAM (Andean Migration Card), which essentially serves as a standard tourist visa. It will request your personal details and record your entry and exit. You can view your electronic TAM Card online, along with a Customs Declaration Form, to proceed through immigration, collect your baggage, and pass through customs to reach the transport service area.

Guests residing at the Costa del Sol and Holiday Inn hotels are assured transportation to the new airport with a complimentary shuttle service operating hourly.

Departure

For departures, vehicles will reach the bridge on the third floor of the new airport. Only small vehicles like cars and vans can drop off passengers for both domestic and international flights here. Groups arriving by buses or sprinters must be dropped off at the designated bus parking area. From there, passengers will take a short walk to the check-in counters, following the flow and signage within the terminal. For international flights, consider departing from the hotel 4 hours and 30 minutes before your flight.

To enhance the waiting experience, the new airport includes a rest area where passengers can unwind and rejuvenate, a gastronomic area with diverse options, and a VIP area crafted to deliver an exclusive, premium experience.

Official Bus Service

Lima International Airport is served by the luxury buses of Airport Express Lima. This service offers hourly departures and connects Lima Airport to Miraflores. The stops are strategically located in Miraflores, within walking distance of numerous hotels and hostels. All buses feature on-board TVs, comfortable reclining seats, charging ports, and free Wi-Fi.

Tickets for Airport Express Lima can be bought online, at their desk next to the international arrivals area, or at their desk in the domestic arrivals baggage area within the terminal.

Tickets start at $4, making it the most reliable and economical way to reach Miraflores from the airport.

Due to numerous reports of driver misconduct, Uber is not recognized as a licensed taxi service in Lima. Consequently, local authorities have prohibited Uber drivers from operating at Lima Airport. Although Uber still lets you request a ride, drivers often cancel upon approaching the airport since police conduct permit checks. While there is a chance an Uber might get through, it is highly advised against using Uber at Lima Airport due to safety and legal concerns.

The upgraded airport facilities will accommodate 30 million passengers annually, bolstering Lima's role as a major transportation hub in South America. Some sections of the new airport, such as a second runway and a new control tower, are already operational. The new terminal is a component of a broader "airport city" initiative, with modernization efforts scheduled to continue until 2051.
